Festival of Voices presents: Singh and Blanes

Duo Singh & Blanes sing timeless love ballads that cross musical continents and cultures.  An intimate portrait is drawn between these two musicians, each song performed acts as a vignette of a deeper love story.

Singh plays a combination of Indian instruments the Sitar & Tanpura and sings in English and in her native Punjab; accomplished pianist Blanes – minimalist in his approach to this project – applies his baritone to convey a deep simplicity in lyrics and phrasing. Their tender heartfelt performances and high musicianship are a rare sight and sound, playful and earnest.
