Clarence Jazz Festival: Day 8 (Rosny Farm Grounds)
Due to the weather forecast, the Big Weekend has moved to a giant marquee in the grounds of Rosny Farm.
The last day of the Big Jazz Weekend at Rosny Farm eases you in with dulcet tones and before you know it you’ll be pogoing, swinging and soft-shoe shuffling all over the place.
- 12pm: Elizabeth College Summer School Super Band – The culmination of a week long Stage Band program held annually at Elizabeth College, it’s not just a big band, it’s a SUPER BAND.
- 1:15pm: Django’s Tiger – Swinging Gypsy Jazz in the style of legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli.
- 2:30pm: Lindy Mob – Hobart’s crack squad lindy hop dancers.
- 2:45pm: Uncle Gus and the Rim Shots – Playing repertoire from the swing and jive greats like Louis Jordan, Louis Prima and Bull Moose Jackson. Just try and keep still to this.
- 3:45pm: Lindy Mob have-a-go: Now you’ve got your jive back, try out some steps with these hot hoppers.
- 4pm: Mia Palencia – Tight, original arrangements and stellar musicianship. Mia’s voice is mellow and mellifluous with a sparkle.
- 5:30pm: George Washingmachine Allstars Grand Finale!
The Rosny Farm is a licensed area, no BYO. It has local food vans and local beer, wine and cider.
