Unveil: George Kennedy & Abigail Rothery
Abbie and George are artists with an ongoing interest in place. One practice uses the window to form a membrane between the inside and the outside. Embodying the intimacy of the home and the familiar paths peeling outward. Outward into the landscape. Into a practice which understands the landscape to be curated for and compromised by human use. A landscape haunted by imagined futures of ruin and detritus.
While their approaches differ, both interests lie within the framework of human spaces, and form partial connections of what it means to exist within them. What is present in these human spaces, and how is it defined by what is absent?
