Applications are now open for musicians wanting to perform at the 2024 Clarence Jazz Festival – lutruwita/ Tasmania’s biggest and most prestigious jazz festival.
Now entering its 28th year, the annual Clarence Jazz Festival is world-renowned for showcasing the very best of local and interstate jazz musicians, as well as local food and wine, venues, and culture and successful applicants will become part of a respected global community of Clarence Jazz Festival performers.
Clarence Arts and Events are seeking expressions of interest from any musicians or ensembles performing in any genre of jazz.
This year, applications have been split into three streams:
- General – geared towards amateur/ professional/ established/ mid-late career groups);
- Hothouse – which attracts seed funding of up to $1500 in addition to appearance fees for the development of new work that features new or exciting collaborations;
- Emerging – for performers/ bands within the first five years of their professional practice.
First nations musicians, Women and gender diverse musicians, musicians from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and musicians of all ages and abilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
