Dying is an Art: Mary Buchanan Bailey

Mary Buchanan Bailey’s latest exhibition explores the process of ageing and approaching dying in what can become a shrinking and often alien world – a world in which identity can become confused and individual needs not recognised. It challenges current attitudes to what it is like to be getting older from a personal viewpoint.
She is one of the few serious social commentary arts workers in Tasmania. Her work, exploring individuals and groups often marginalised by society, has been exhibited in numerous group and joint shows and eight solo exhibitions.
