Produce – For the Sunflower and Iris Lovers: Miranda Rogers
I’d rather be out in the garden. Summer is coming and there are peas to plant and sunflowers!…
The last of the turnips need to be harvested and…
I really should start getting a bed ready for this year’s tomatoes.
Gardening has consumed me and my art practice.
Figures work in the garden telling the stories of the produce. Growing food, flowers and making art about it. A wholesome way of thinking about productivity.
I’ve been having fun with mixed medias using monoprinting techniques mixed with ink watercolour, oil pastels and coloured pencil.
Drawing what I have achieved in the garden that morning, excited to go out and do more garden chores tomorrow.
I feel like we all have been looking at making our own patch of earth a better place. These last four years there has been so much out of our control. So why not control what we can, what we eat, work on spending more time outside and making our patch of community better.
It’s just so annoying all this fun is keeping me out of the studio…
